Two teens critically injured after travelling in an allegedly stolen car that was involved in a serious crash west of Brisbane have been identified.
Cassie Battison, 17, and Tyson Brehm, 15, have been identified as two of the three teens involved in the crash, with another unidentified 15-year-old boy also pulled from the wreckage.
Emergency crews were called to Brightview Rd, Brightview, about 6am after the Mazda CX-9 attempted to overtake a truck before it struck a pole and caught fire.
Two helicopters were also called to the scene in the Lockyer Valley to assist after initial reports indicated two 15-year-old boys and a 17-year-old girl were injured.
A friend of the pair shared her fears about their health after the incident.
“My baby girl no way! My heart is broken” she said on Facebook
“Tyson and Cass [you] are strong I hope [you] pull through this, I love you both with all my heart.
“Please I can’t believe it, I don‘t [know] what I’d do without [you] in my life.”
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said one of the 15-year-old boys was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital, while the 17-year-old was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, also by helicopter.
Both teens are reportedly in a critical condition.
The third teen was treated by paramedics at the scene and was taken in a stable condition to Queensland Children’s Hospital.
Forensic crash unit investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or saw the sedan prior, to contact police.
The Mazda was allegedly stolen from a Clayfield address overnight.
